British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The fighter was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital follows the boxing community offered its support for the fighter in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
