Acclaimed children's author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A spokesman for the publisher stated: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards young women.

The firm declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold more than 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, which features a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
